On the morning of Saturday, 28th January over 140 children visited DIFE for the annual Drogheda Credit Union Primary School Quiz 2023.
Bursting with both excitement and knowledge, school children from Drogheda, East Meath, Dunleer and Trim battled it out for the coveted title overseen by Quiz Master, Declan Collins.
Children as young as eight were flying their way through questions in each round. “It is so wonderful to see how gifted and talented all these children are that have participated here with us today” commented Credit Union Secretary, Paul Hussey.
“It’s a credit to their teachers and schools in preparing and organising their teams to be with us, and we thank them all for their participation in what was a fierce compeition”.
In competition A (under 11), Kilbride NS, Robinstown NS and Le Cheile ETNS finished in Joint first place, which ensued numerous tie breaker rounds and eventually an eliminator round.
The tension was palpable, with all three schools giving it their all. Kilbride NS claimed the coveted prize of First Place leaving Robinstown NS and Le Cheile ETNS as joint runners up.
In competition B (Under 13), it was equally intense. The score board was very close with only points in the difference between many of the teams right until the final round.
Whitecross NS won first place. St Patricks Stamullen NS pipped Tullyallen NS to win second place, with Tullyallen NS very deserving winners of 3rd place.
