Drogheda and East Meath Fianna Fáil Councillor, Stephen McKee, has welcomed the news that flood prevention works for the Marsh Road, Drogheda are planned shortly.
“The issue of flooding along the Marsh Road, particularly close to Drogheda Grammar School and Le Cheile schools, is one that I have been lobbying Meath County Council on” said McKee.
“I’m pleased that both Louth and Meath County Councils are going to carry out joint works as part of an overall agreement to solve the issue, under what’s called a Section 85 Agreement. This work will form part of the Drogheda Flood Relief Scheme.’
“The problem is caused by regular flooding from the River Boyne which creates a serious problem for all the many road users on the Marsh Road.
“This will be good news for local people. I will keep the pressure on to ensure that the works are carried out as soon as possible” promised McKee.
