Rory Gallagher fans will be delighted to hear that the mighty Sam Davidson’s Taste will be rocking McHugh’s Barrel Venue this Saturday, May 20, with a night of heavy blues that’ll shake the place to its core!
Voted “Northern Ireland’s greatest blues/rock band of today” by their legions of followers, “SDT” are a power trio with their own brand of ‘Raw Irish Rock and Blues’ in the style of legendary Irish ’60s band Taste, of whom Sam and Lyn were members.
Taste were an iconic Irish blues/rock band from the 1960s who were founded by songwriter and guitarist Rory Gallagher who left the band in 1970.
Sam Davidson took over Rory Gallagher’s role as frontman on lead guitar and vocals, with Lyn McMullan on drums and Ali McKenzie on bass keeping the sound and energy of the original band alive.
Expect classic blues, early Taste and Rory numbers, plus some of Sam’s own originals. All of which should add up to an utterly unmissable nights for Blues aficionados and fans of Rory Gallagher and Taste.
