David Rovics, an independent American activist, singer, songwriter, musician and storyteller is appearing at McHughs Barrel Venue on June 16 as part of his ‘Killing The Messenger’ European Tour.
At his gigs Rovics embraces topics such as anti-rasicm, refugee and immigrant acceptance, far-right opposition, dangers of fascism, housing issues and inclusion for all.
Accompanying Rovics on backing vocals will be Australian artist, Kamala Emanuel who campaigns for women’s rights and feminist actions in her native Australia.
David and Kamala both openly engage with audience members at their gigs to help inform and educate.
After the tour, David goes on to England to perform at the Glastonbury Festival where he will join his long-time collaborator Billy Bragg.
