TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROADS
SECTION 75 ROADS ACT, 1993
Louth County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to close sections of the M1 from Junction 10 to Junction 18 (and vice versa) at night-time on various dates over a twelve week period to facilitate Celtic Roads Group (CRG) to facilitate EMERGENCY & PAVEMENT works.
The Closures & Diversion route will be as follows:
- Southbound section of the M1 between Junction 10 to Junction 7 (To facilitate EMERGENCY Works, for 1 night) – within the period 8th August 2023 to 14th August 2023.
– Mainline Diversion using the following national, regional and local roads; N51, R132 (old N1).
Diversions will be in place, at night time only, between the hours of 20.30-05.30.
- Southbound section of the M1 between Junction 10 to Junction 7 (for 2 nights) – within the period 14th August to 30th
– Mainline Diversion using the following national, regional and local roads; N51, R132 (old N1).
Diversions will be in place, at night time only, between the hours of 20.30-05.30.
- Northbound within sections of the M1 between Junction 10 to Junction 14 – within the period 14th August 2023 – 30th November 2023.
– Diversion using the following national, regional and local roads; R132 (old N1), N51, R211, R170, R169, R132, L2226 (N33).
Diversions will be in place, at night time only, between the hours of 19.30-06.30.
- Southbound within sections of the M1 between Junction 18 to Junction 10 – within the period 14th August 2023 – 30th November 2023.
– Diversion using the following national, regional and local roads; N52, R132 (old N1), N53, R166, R169, N51, L2226.
Diversions will be in place, at night time only, between the hours of 19.00-05.30.
- Junction 12 & Junction 13 – Roundabouts, slip roads, approach roads – within the period 14th August 2023 – 30th November 2023.
– Diversion using the following national, regional and local roads; Junction 12, R169, Junction 14, L2226, R132 (old N1).
Diversions will be in place, at night time only, between the hours of 19.00-05.30.
The total duration of the roadworks is expected to be twelve weeks, during which time the motorway mainline, interchange slip roads, roundabouts and side roads may be closed. It is the intention of Celtic Roads Group (CRG) to minimise the number of and duration of road closures within the above period.
Contingency has been included in the twelve week period to allow for disruption to works due to weather conditions etc. and every effort will be made to complete works in less than twelve weeks.
The closures will affect both carriageways at different periods. For the emergency works, both carriageways will be closed together and for pavement works only one carriageway will be closed at any given time.
