Following the discovery of a body in the river Boyne at Slane yesterday evening Monday 31st July, 2023, the missing person appeal for local man James Smyth Collins has been stood down.
Twenty one year old James had been missing since the early hours of Saturday 22nd July 2023.
An Garda Síochána thanked the media and the public for their assistance.
The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service, who had been searching the river since James was reported missing along with Meath River Rescue, recovered James’s body from the Boyne following a call from kayakers who had spotted the body in the water.
