Young Ace AC athletes, Sophie Black and Smirthi Prasad were thrilled to win bronze medals in the relay and Hannah Black ran one of her best ever races in the 500m at the recent Boyne AC Sports Day.
A just reward for these three girls who try so hard in every competition.
In the girls u14 800m Ace had two girls on the podium.Naiya Semple in 2nd and Lauren Faulkner in 3rd. Lauren had been pipped for a medal last week, so she gave a good performance today to win the bronze. Naiya Semple later went on to win the Long Jump where Kate O Donnell also competed well despite being sick all morning.
The older girls again won lots of medals. U15 Chloe Cooney won her 800m comfortably and also won silver in the 100m. U16 Sholah Lawrence won 2 golds in the 800m and long jump while Chloe Hanley won bronze in the same 800m.
Training partner Ciara O Connor won double gold in the u16 100m and 400m, with Kate Culhane winning 2 silvers in the same events.
The boys had a successful day, too, with u15 athlete Daniel Hanley taking home the silver medal in the 800m race. Fergus Nolan also won silver in his u16 800m race.

The ever improving Tayo Lawrence won 2 silver medals in the long jump and the 600m.
Brothers Ollie & Alfie Marron performed well again with both just missing out on the medals. Fiachra and Oisin Murphy, who are now seasoned performers, put in strong performances also. Senan O Beirne made a return to track and field competing very well in the sprints, long jump and middle distance.
Thanks to Boyne AC for hosting such a great day.
