Ace ACs Sholah Lawrence travelled to Birmingham UK on Friday last at to compete for Ireland in the 800m at u15/u17 para championships at the weekend.
Sholah ran in the heats on Saturday right in the middle of a horrendous rain storm. Sholah battled hard in a 3 way sprint finish securing qualification for Sundays final in a very impressive second place, despite the awful conditions.
However, Sunday’s final proved a race too far Lawrence in what was a long hard season and despite her best efforts she didn’t come anywhere near her normal 800m times and she finished outside of the top group.
Sholah is just one of several Ace Ac athletes to receive international recognition in recent times . Only this month Neil Culhane competed at the European u20 championships in Jerusalem also in the 800m.
