It was a case of double gold celebrations for Ace on Sunday in the junior male category at the Drogheda and District 5k.
Danny Nugent won the overall junior race with a superb time of 15.25 , which was a PB. Danny was right up with the chasing pack for the entire race.
In windy conditions, the race was won by National 1500m champion, Cathal Doyle, who broke the course record in 14.16.
Daniel Hanley was next home for Ace finishing in 7th place with a fantastic PB of 18.22. Niall Murray finished in 8th with another PB 18.26 and finally Fergus Nolan 11th place in a time of 19.13. Absolutely brilliant running from all the Ace lads to win Junior team Gold.
Ziad , Aimee, and Muireann Chammas decided to make it a family affair – Muireann and Aimeee ran together in a super time of 28.39 which was only Muireanns second ever 5k.
Angela Kearney ran 21.41 with daughter Meadhbh Nolan running 22.54. Congratulations to all the Ace runners.
