Two dedicated young athletes from Boyne AC, Will Gow (U12) and Eoin McEntee (U14), proudly represented their club and county at the National Cross Country Championship held at Castle Irvine, Irvinestown.
Competing against the very best in Ireland in their respective age categories, the pair demonstrated the rewards of hard work, training, and sheer determination.
The conditions on the day were far from ideal, with wet and chilly weather adding an extra layer of difficulty to the already challenging course. Despite this, Will and Eoin took their well-deserved places on the starting line, ready to face a field stacked with talent and experience.
Their journey to this prestigious event was not an easy one, it took countless hours of training, early mornings, and unwavering dedication to bring them to this point, and their performances reflected the effort they’ve invested.
Although they didn’t bring home medals this time, both athletes competed with heart and left everything on the course. The red faces at the finish line were a testament to their determination and love for the sport, as they pushed through every stride with pride.
Representing Boyne AC and their county at this elite level is a fantastic achievement in itself. Both athletes enjoyed every moment of the experience, and their commitment is an inspiration to teammates and aspiring runners across the club.
Congratulations to Will and Eoin on their remarkable performances. Their dedication, hard work, and passion for running have made their families, their club, and their community immensely proud. The future is bright for these young Boyne AC stars!
