Autism Support Louth&Meath has been awarded €37,500 from the RTE Toy Show Appeal grants for 2022 by the Community Foundation for Ireland.
This grant is allocated towards providing a safe space for Autistic Teenagers so they can build confidence, participate in joint activities and make friends.
“This will allow us to expand and grow the services and activities they can provide for Autistic Teenagers and Children in this area” said Jacinta Walsh of Autism Support Louth&Meath
“Thanks so much to everyone who donated to the Toy Show appeal – your donations will really make a difference.
“We already run a number of weekly youth clubs and activities attended by over 80 individuals but this funding will allow us to bring in some additional supports such as Art Therapy and Music Therapy.
“We will create a physical safe space and environment for Autistic Children, Teens and Young Adults where they can relax and play games and interact at their own pace.
“As always we are humbled and grateful for the support we receive from our local community and community funds like the Toy Show Appeal.”
