On Sunday, 27th August, the Market House, Main Street, Dunleer will host the “Discover Your River Catchment”: a free, family friendly nature crafts and fun science exhibit to celebrate your local water heritage and to discover the aquatic life within your local rivers and streams.
All are welcome to drop by to learn more about your water heritage and to share some local knowledge.
Water Heritage Day is designated as the last day of Heritage Week to celebrate water and what it means to us. Water is an important feature in many Irish landscapes including rivers, lakes, and coasts, and is also a precious natural resource. Across the country, local groups have organised unique opportunities for Water Heritage Day to celebrate and explore Ireland’s waterways and coasts.
