There’s no Walk and Talk this Wednesday July 12th, but there will be on Wednesday July 19th when Liam Reilly will lead a walk starting from outside the Millmount Bar at 7.30 pm around Duleek Street, Mary Street and James Street.
Some of the subjects he will be covering include:
the shooting of Liam Leech, Sampson’s Pub, Bernard Daly shot during the Civil War, Larry Walsh, Drogheda's longest serving Mayor, Sarah's Avenue, Black Butt Lane, Crooked Street, Barber Callan's Pub, Famous Duleek Gate people, St Marys Church of Ireland, Cairnes Hall, Harry Martin, The War Memorial, The pubs demolished to make way for the road to the Bridge of Peace, Graves Lane, Joe Shields, Socks Duggan, Pete's Chip Shop, Bateson's, St Marys Roman Catholic Church, The Castle of Comfort, Dwyer's Handball Alley, Pitcher Hill.
There is no set charge but small donations will be accepted for the Old Drogheda Society.
