Lilly O'Leary and Robert Corduff help to launch the 2018 ABACAS Valentine's Ball.
Tickets have gone on sale for the ninth Valentines Ball in aid of the Drogheda ABACAS School for Children with Autism and Louth and Meath Autism Support Youth Clubs to be held in the Westcourt Hotel, Drogheda on Saturday the 24th Feb 2018.
This spectacular event sells out quickly every year and is a major event in the social calendar. All funds raised support the Drogheda ABACAS School for Children with Autism and complex needs and the Louth/Meath Autism Support weekly youth clubs for children, teenagers and young adults with Autism or Asperger Syndrome.
“The Ball consists of a champagne reception, dinner, raffle, dancing and DJ and the fun usually continues until 3.00am” said committee member Jacinta Walsh.
“It is a very glamorous, exciting and enjoyable event and we always have a few surprises for our guests. In the past celebrity guests have included Brian Ormond and Pippa O'Connor, Michelle Heaton, Mickey Harte, Lorraine Keane and Peter Devlin and Derry and Sallyanne Clarke.”

MC forthe night will be the one and only Gerry Kelly and music by 2morrows people. Tickets are €75each or a table of 10 for €750.
The very hardworking organising committee of Anne McClean, Ruth Roden, Cathy White, Linda Flynn, Aine Walsh and Fiona Stewart are looking forward to another fantastic evening and will be out and about in the next few weeks sourcing prizes and support from the local community who are always so generous to us. There are also many sponsor opportunities available.
The Ball is both a fundraiser and an opportunity for groups of friends to meet up and have a brilliant night out. It’s an opportunity for the School and the youth club to highlight some of the work they do such as their Occupational Therapy programme and new Social Drama and Capacity Building groups for teenagers and young adults with Autism or Asperger Syndrome.
“In particular this year we are hoping to raise funds to replace our current little minibus which is used by the school and by the youth clubs in the evening and weekends” Jacinta said. “Having the ability to bring the children out and about is excellent for their community integration skills and also provides a much need respite break for parents.”
