The Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland is extending an invitation to young musicians (ages 13-24) to join their 130 strong orchestra.

The Orchestra provides exceptional performance opportunities for young people who can expect to play a series of arena concerts across the country as part of their annual Peace Proms tour.

Over the past 29 years, the orchestra has played an important role in building cross border and cross community relations and is at the forefront of music education in Ireland.

The Orchestra is accepting applicants between the ages of 13 and 24 years from all over Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Any students interested in auditioning must submit two videos that illustrate their talents.  Audition requirements include two contrasting pieces at the appropriate level. Further information including the minimum standard requirements are available on their website.

The orchestra’s founder Founder, Sharon Treacy-Dunne, said: “Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland provides exceptional opportunities for young and talented musicians to perform with leading conductors and like-minded musicians. Members will get the chance to perform in up to 20 concerts with audiences in excess of 60,000 people. The orchestra often tours internationally and has sold out Carnegie Hall, New York on several occasions.”

Aspiring musicians can apply through the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland website and complete an easy form. Applications close on Sunday 30th June and successful applicants should be in a position to join from August 2024. Tuition at all workshops and rehearsals is provided free of charge.
