Chocolate desserts to die for at the World Gate Restaurant in Termonfeckin!
Ever since December 2019 when they opened the World Gate Restaurant in Termonfeckin the proprietors, two Gallic charmers called Thomas and Stan, have been on a roller coaster ride of closures and re-openings.
They made their mark right from the get-go in the run up to last Christmas with their Cordon Bleu menu proving very popular and business got better and better as word spread in the New Year.
‘Happy Days’ they thought, all of the hard work, long hours and uncertainty that goes along with starting a new business was beginning to pay off
And then along came Covid -19 and, like restaurants all over the country, they had to close their door and rely solely on the take-away trade.

The doors opened again in June and their customers returned in their droves to sample once again French cuisine at its finest.
Business was booming right up until September and then the second lockdown hit and it was back to the drawing board once again for Thomas and Stan.
The secret of their success, if only they could stay open long enough, is the sheer quality of the food which uses as its starting point top quality products that are sourced locally. Products such as Lobsters and monkfish landed up the road in Clogherhead.
We all know that great ingredients can be ruined in the wrong hands but Thomas has many years of experience working in Michelin starred restaurants in France and, as the photos on this page will show, he sure as hell knows what he’s doing.
