It’s a slow and torturous process but it seems that the new Whitecross National School for Julianstown may finally be on its way. Or at least a step closer.
In a statement issued yesterday, Fine Gael TD Fergus O’Dowd welcomed the decision of the Department of Education to approve the detailed design of Whitecross National School thus allowing it to proceed to tender.
“This takes about six months in total” deputy O’Dowd told Drogheda Life, adding: “I am very hopeful that work can commence on construction of the new school before the end of 2018.
“Minister Bruton has informed me that a Stage 2b (Detailed Design) approval letter has issued today to the Chairperson of Whitecross National School, Julianstown, Co Meath, RN 17705J.

“The project is now progressing to the Department’s Tender and Construction Section who will be responsible for taking the project through the tendering process. "
