UN Ambassador to address Development Perspectives celebration

Ireland’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Geraldine Byrne Nason pictured with Drogheda Councillors and the Chief Executive of Louth County Council Joan Martin at the ceremony at which she received the freedom of Drogheda in January this year. You can hear Ms Byrne Nason speaking on an online tonight seminar celebrating the progress of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Ireland’s part in that success.

Ireland’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Geraldine Byrne Nason, the former Greenhills student who was awarded the freedom of Drogheda in January, is to be the main speaker at an online event at 7.00 pm this evening to celebrate the progress of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Drogheda based Development Perspectives along with Concern Worldwide and Creativity & Change will host the digital event which also marks the 5th anniversary of these Global Goals. 

The event, which will be framed around the work of Buddhist scholar and environmental activist Joanna Macy, will discuss Ireland’s contribution, the current situation, and the roadmap for the next 10 years.
