Uisce Éireann crews working to repair burst water main in Drogheda

Front Page

Uisce Éireann crews have been working all day to restore water supply to customers in parts of Drogheda following a burst water main this morning.

Every effort was being made to maintain water supply to as many customers as possible, but the burst, which occurred at 6:30am this morning, is impacting some customers in Tredagh View, Tredagh Close, Tredagh Crescent, Marley Court, Beach Wood areas. Consumers to the north of the town may also experience interruption to supply while the burst is being repaired.

Crews isolated a large diameter trunk main to allow the repair work to commence. Because of the complexity of this burst, it is not known what time the repair will be completed.

Uisce Éireann’s James O’Hagan commented: “The repairs are being conducted as quickly and as efficiently as possible to minimise disruption and restore the water supply to homes and businesses. We understand the inconvenience an unplanned outage can have on our customers and appreciate their patience as we work to return normal water supply as quickly as possible.”

“Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.”
