Councillor Sharon Tolan.

Local Fine Gael Councillor, Sharon Tolan has welcomed today’s news from An Bord Pleanala that they have granted the Compulsory Purchase Order for the land required to complete the Spine Road between Bettystown and Laytown.

Tolan has championed this project since she was first elected in 2014, and has been determined to see this road delivered for East Meath.

“As a mother and local resident in East Meath, I have known the issues faced by residents on a daily basis, by the lack of proper infrastructure” Tolan said.

“I am delighted to receive news today from An Bord Pleanala that the CPO has now been granted for this stretch of land required to complete the work.

“I will continue to push this project until completion. This is such welcome news for parents of almost 2000 children attending the three schools in the area, and for commuters also” she said.
