TLT planning spectacular socially distanced Christmas Wonderland

Front Page

The arts and entertainment sector has been hit particularly hard this year but the management and staff at the TLT Concert Hall are determined to end the year on a festive high with a spectacular ‘Christmas Wonderland’ experience.

TLT proprietor, Patrick Leddy said that he was not prepared to let the year pass without ensuring that some Christmas joy be offered to the families of the North East region as well as giving them an opportunity to visit Santa in a safe and extremely Covid compliant environment.

“We have a large 900 seater venue with multiple performance spaces” Patrick said, “it would be crazy for us not to produce an experience for everyone to enjoy this Christmas, as well as to create employment for many talented actors, dancers and stage crew to help them and their family’s though these difficult times.

“Our event will feature live actors and musical performances in various zones around the venue, with family’s entering the experience at five-minute intervals to ensure there is no ‘gathering’ of people in any one area.

“With the easing of Covid restrictions due to come into effect from Dec 2nd, and with the expansive safety measures and control systems that we have implemented throughout our venue we are confident that our event can go ahead and people will feel very safe.

We have invested a large amount of money into this event and there has already been a phenomenal response to it with many dates already sold out, so we fully intend to proceed with our plans.

The TLT  magical Christmas experience begins as you arrive at the theatre car park where you will be greeted by the “station master” who will guide you and your family into a magnificent wonderland of Christmas magic and fun.

Families will get to explore Santa’s Headquarters on an hour-long ‘socially distant’ guided tour by Santa’s elves, and will meet some familiar characters along the way including story time with Mrs. Clause in her cosy lodge with complimentary hot chocolate for the children and mulled wine for the grown-ups.

After meeting some of the other festive characters, guests can then relax in the ‘Christmas Village’ with a hot beverage and some Christmas treats at their designated table, whilst enjoying the magic of theatre with a live elves workshop and musical showcase, before finally meeting Santa himself in a socially distant setting for a pre-Christmas gift and a picture on his sleigh.

Sensory and wheelchair accessible sessions are also being made available so that everyone can enjoy this magical experience.

Tickets are on sale now from  or call the box office Mon to Fri from 10am- 1pm on 041 9878560.

The TLT are looking forward to a very busy 2021 with many live show’s already confirmed from such well-known artistes as comedians Jimmy Carr and Sarah Millican and shows such as Menopause The Musical, The Wizard Of Oz musical and plenty more besides.
