The Enchanted Kingdom, which returns to Slane Castle from November 14th until January 2025, promises to be the most exciting winter attraction ever bringing with it a world of magic.

As you pass through a doorway you’ll hear the tinkling of bells. The sounds intensify as you approach. You smell cinnamon and the fragrance of wood burning on an open fire.

The all-new Enchanted Kingdom is an immersive light and sound installation that takes place on the grounds of Slane Castle after sunset from Thursday to Sunday from November 14th 2024.

The Enchanted Kingdom is family friendly, fully accessible for wheelchairs and buggies and people of all ages and abilities and, this year, will also help raise funds for Special Hands, an activity group dedicated to improving the lives of children and young adults with additional needs.

The Enchanted Kingdom makes use of modern technology such 3D sound mapping, targeted projection technology, interactive lighting design and custom-built structures to bring this fantasy world to life.

It’s a walk of approximately one kilometre and, through the use of light, movement, sound and ingenious special effects, a story unfolds of a place that shouldn’t exist. A mystical world of fantasy, bioluminescent creatures with a dreamlike quality and breathtaking new experiences from exhilarating, wind-in-your-face effects to snow falling gently on your face.

Talking trees will trick you, bodies of water come alive, magical creatures of ice and fire walk alongside you, flames burst through a forest without burning a single tree and sculptures of ice glisten and glow in this multidimensional parallel world of art and magic.

Slane Castle, with over 300 years of stories, is one of the most exciting locations in Ireland. From its rich and noble history to the internationally renowned open air Rock Concerts featuring some of the best acts in the world, it is now home to Alex Conyngham, Earl of Mount Charles, his wife, Carina and their children.

Now this iconic location is being reimagined for a brand-new experience that can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages and abilities.

"We’re taking visitors on a journey to a magical realm and a totally immersive experience where guests are the primary characters in a vivid fantasy world," said Alex Conyngham, Earl of Mount Charles. “Carina and I are thrilled to see Slane Castle transform in such a spectacular fashion for families and how it will fire the imaginations of adults and children alike”

The event will also include a Christmas Craft and Food Market which will be a feast for the senses with sights and smells of Christmas and a wide range of unique arts, crafts and special gifts.  Mulled wine, hot chocolate and delicious festive fare will keep the winter chills at bay and infuse the air with festive cheer.

The Enchanted Kingdom is by ticket only and tickets are now available from €21.50 on www.enchantedkingdom.ie. Christmas parties and group bookings are welcome and the Enchanted Kingdom is a fully accessible family friendly event.
