A file photo of work in progress on the temporary footpath at Colpe Bridge a few weeks ago.
The temporary footpath across Colpe railway bridge is to be extended down to the back of Gaelscoil An Bhradáin Feasa to allow children and families to safely walk from Grange Rath and the Colpe area down to the schools on the Mill Road.
Drogheda and East Meath Fianna Fail Councillor, Stephen McKee told Drogheda Life that he was delighted to have received this news from Meath County.
"This is great news for families in the area” McKee said, adding that he has been told the temporary path will be extended in the next couple of weeks.
“Long-term, a proper footpath will be provided along the Colpe Road as part of the new office park development across from the car wash but this extension of the temporary path should make a difference in the short term once pupils return to school.

“I'd like to thank local residents for putting the pressure on the Council and for working with me on this in the interest of improving road safety for all children and families in the area' concluded McKee.
