Camila Russo is a woman of the new Edwardian world, who finds herself caught up in the turmoil of the Mason family who live in the old world, a dying breed of landed gentry, clinging to their great house and to a lifestyle they can no longer afford.

Two murders take place in one night, with the help of a local policeman, Camila has twenty-four hours to find the connections between them, which will lead to the killer.
