Mayor of Drogheda Councillor Paul Bell.
Mayor of Drogheda Councillor Paul Bell is organising a rally in the town to protest against the activities of organised criminal gangs in the area.
The move comes, says the Mayor, “…in response to the hideous crime committed in our beloved town where a young boy Keane Mulready Woods was savagely tortured and murdered in the most recent episode of the ongoing drug gang feud.”
The proposed rally is planned for a central venue, Laurence’s Gate has been mentioned, at 2.00 pm on Saturday January 25.
“I, as Mayor of this historic town, invite you to stand together to demand an end to this criminality in our town and our Country” he said.

Arrangements are being discussed with An Garda Siochana and Louth County Council.
“This is not a political event, it is a citizen’s event where all are welcome and in particular the young people of our town and district. Stay united and stay strong.”
