Front Page

The Drogheda branch of the St. John Ambulance is looking to recruit cadets.

The Drogheda branch of the St. John Ambulance is looking to recruit cadets.

Cadets are the youth section of the St. John Ambulance which is for young people aged between 11 and 18yrs. The senior Division caters for those over 18yrs. If you or your children are interested in getting involved here is your chance.

Adults and cadets are uniformed members of the organisation and are certified first aiders who attend local and national events to provide first aid under the supervision of their cadet leaders and officers.

Cadets in Drogheda attend weekly training from 7pm to 830pm on a Monday in Mell Parish Hall, Upper Mell, Drogheda where they learn life-saving skills in first aid. Cadets aged 14yrs and above are also trained in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

There is much more to being a cadet than first aid, cadets take part in lots of other fun and adventurous activities such as, attending summer camps, going ice skating, bowling, completing team building exercises and of course making new friends.

Being a cadet gives young people an opportunity to achieve their full potential by learning life skills which enables them to be good citizens, giving something back to their community.

New cadets (11yrs to 18yrs) are welcome to attend each Monday night from 7pm to 830pm. Those over 18 can attend on a Tuesday night from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. We also welcome anyone with prior experience and or registered on the phecc register.
