Sons of Cream who play McHughs Barrel Venue on August 8.
A band called ‘Sons of Cream’ will be performing a not to be missed gig for rock and blues fans in Drogheda at McHugh's Barrel Venue on Thursday week, August 8th.
As the name implies, two of the band members, Malcom Bruce and Kofi Baker, are sons of Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker who, along with Eric Clapton, formed the iconic supergroup Cream who provided the soundtrack to a generation of rock and blues fans in the early seventies.
Just to keep everything on the family, the third member of this highly talented trio, guitarist Rob Johnson, is a grandnephew of Ginger Baker.
Sons of Cream breathe fresh life into the family legacy of Cream as all three members are extremely talented musicians in their own right.

They perform highly entertaining shows as the band’s set includes one classic Cream song after another along with two Blind Faith songs.
Their live shows stay true to Cream’s music even down to the improvisation of the performance of the songs that the original Cream was noted for throughout its too-brief career.
Between songs the ‘Sons of Cream’ also tell very entertaining stories about growing up together with their world famous Dads in the heady world of rock and blues.
Kofi’s first live performance was with his father on the cult TV show The Old Grey Whistle Test – at just six years of age he proved he had inherited more than just his father’s name.
It’s a concert of classic, blistering Blues-Rock performed by the true inheritors of this unique and unparalleled tradition and legacy.
Sons of Cream is not a tribute band, more a celebration of their fathers’ iconic music. Having grown up musically together, performing comes as second nature as they dive inside the music, bringing it alive at gigs throughout the world like a second skin, always morphing into something new.
Through some kind of genetic imprint, and intuitive sense, they arrive at the true heart of what Cream’s music stands for and are truly making it their own. Together they are bringing to light the spirit and pure energy and audacity of the music of their fathers.
They have big shoes to fill and you need to be there to judge whether or not they have succeeded. CLICK HERE FOR ONLINE TICKET SALES
