Gardaí had a busy day in Drogheda today, they carried out 32 searches under Operation Stratus which is aimed at tackling the feuding drug gangs, and their hard work resulted in the arrest of a total of 16 people.
Thirty houses in the area were searched and 14 people were arrested and all 14 of them have been brought before both the District and Circuit Courts.
Two other men, aged 23 & 19 years were arrested on suspicion of the commission of criminal acts within the Drogheda Garda District in recent weeks.
The 19 year old was charged and taken before Dundalk District Court whilst the second man remains in custody in Drogheda Garda Station having been detained under the provisions of Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Two separate searches were conducted under warrants issued under The Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977 as amended.
Members of the Road Policing Unit attached to Drogheda Garda Station also conducted an operation which resulted in the seizure of five vehicles and the issuing of 35 on the spot penalty notices for various roads traffic offences.
This operation is ongoing.
