Community Historian Brendan Matthews will be leading the second in the 2023 series of Walk n talk History and Heritage Tours on Wednesday evening, May 31st beginning at 7.30pm at Saint Peters Hill at the top of Peter Street.

Brendan will speak here about the storied past of the immediate area before moving down Peter St. to the Tholsel, the scene of a number of executions in the later 18th century.

The Walk will then move the short distance to the Augustinian Chapel in Shop St. where the intriguing history of this particular location will be told.

Next it will proceed over Bessexwell Lane to Bachelors Lane, via Harps Lane, and through the former Flint Lane into Mayoralty Street where Brendan will elaborate on the coming of the New `Machine Age`  and how this particular area was totally transformed after the mid-18th century.

There is no Charge for this event but donations for the continued research and study of community history will be gratefully received on the evening.
