Roslynn Doherty of the Financial Foundation.
Christmas brings its own pressures but for people in mortgage distress it can be the tipping point.
That’s why Roslynn Doherty, the founder of the Drogheda based Financial Foundation, a debt management company specialising in Mortgage Arrears and Repossession Orders, is holding a talk on debt management on the 27th November in the Westcourt Hotel at 8pm.
In an article in Drogheda Life in August Roslynn said “This is one of the most serious human rights issues of our times in Ireland.”
She repeated a call she made in that article for an urgent national information campaign to encourage people in mortgage distress to engage with their lenders.

“More than ten years after the horrendous financial crash, there are still thousands upon thousands of people suffering. It’s a savage hangover from the economic crash, a terrible legacy” she says.
Pledging to get on to Politicians of all hues to highlight the issue Roslynn said: “I am not exaggerating when I say that this is one of the most serious human rights issues of our times in Ireland.
“People in arrears must be made feel confident and secure about engaging with their Banks and information around this is key.
"I genuinely believe that the roll out of an urgent national information campaign should be a national priority. The stress and strain on people just cannot be allowed to continue.”
