A line down the centre of the road to create a second lane for traffic turning right at Rosehall roundabout would help solve the morning chaos at the junction.
Independent Councillor Kevin Callan is calling on Louth County Council to mark the road entering the Rosehall roundabout from Kilineer for two lanes of traffic.
Cllr Callan has said that morning traffic is backed up towards Kilineer because people entering Drogheda cannot get down the North Road quickly enough to free up the roundabout for traffic turning right towards the Slane road and the M1.
“It is clear from seeing this happen every single day of the working week that people are being delayed on the way to work and we can easily resolve this by putting a white line down the middle of the road lane travelling from Kilineer to the Rosehall roundabout towards the North Road.
“I’ve been in touch with both the engineering and operations sections of the council and I would expect that as the road width is sufficient to allow two lanes of traffic that this work can be carried out in the very near future. In particular in weather where school traffic is higher due to rain this traffic situation gets even worse.
