Prints such as ‘Brú na Bóinne’ by Peter O’Neill and Heather Gilroy are among a treasure trove of Irish Craft gifts available on giftedfromireland.com, which brings you the very best in Irish craft and design direct from the country’s most talented makers.
There is no place like home for a couple whose world-wide travels inspired them to set up a business producing custom prints and illustrated maps of Ireland's most beautiful towns, counties and landmarks.
Peter O’Neill and his partner Heather Gilroy founded Prints of Ireland in 2020 and their charming prints will feature at Gifted, the Contemporary Craft and Design Fair at the RDS from December 1-5.
Peter, from Skerries, and Heather, from Drogheda, also produce Christmas cards, calendars and tote bags, as well as accepting commissions.
The eco-friendly business is firmly rooted by a strong sense of place as well as a love for the Irish language.

“We try to promote Gaeilge alongside English text by using easy to remember words and phrases,” said Peter.
“And having started with prints of our home towns of Skerries and Drogheda, we like to get feel for a place.
“Everything we make is designed and printed in Ireland and the business is as eco-friendly as possible.”
Gifted is the ultimate destination for anyone interested in craft, design, unique independent brands and artisan food producers and will attract an expected 35,000 visitors over five days.
More than 500 designers, makers and artisan food producers will be featured at Ireland’s largest Christmas gift shopping event which will provide a crucial boost to unique brands and makers after the pandemic forced its cancellation last year.
Over €5 million will be spent at the Fair on contemporary Irish jewellery, fashion, accessories, ceramics, interiors, art, photography and children’s gifts.
“The Fair is a huge boost to the independent creative sector, it is vital to the industry as a whole and it is estimated that it generates enough business to keep most of the exhibitors busy for at least four months of the year,” said organiser, Patrick O’Sullivan.
“At the onset of lockdown last year, we immediately moved to supporting our exhibitors through the giftedfromireland.com site – and that has been a very successful sales outlet for them.
“However, so many of our exhibitors are overjoyed at news of the return of Gifted because they have missed the human interaction of the selling process.
“The Fair is a unique opportunity to interact with the most creative people in Ireland and discover thousands of original products available only at this event.
“Giving a Gifted gift this Christmas means loved ones will receive a specially created present from an extensive range that can’t be matched anywhere else.
“Our curated offering gives you the opportunity to secure once-off presents from a wide selection of contemporary Irish jewellery, fashion, accessories, ceramics, interiors, art, photography, and children’s gifts.”
Gifted also hosts the spectacular Christmas Food Emporium with over 100 artisan food producers, where you can meet the experts who can help you source the tastiest festive fare.
Gifted, The Contemporary Craft and Design Fair, takes place at the RDS Main Hall in Dublin’s Ballsbridge from December 1-5. Full details and booking at www.giftedfair.ie. Special 10% discount on all purchases on December 1.
