Councillor Declan Power.
It’s one pf the jewels of the East Coast, apart from being a busy fishing port it also plays host to thousands of holidaymakers during the summer months, but local Councillor Declan Power thinks that Louth County Council could do more to make Clogherhead more attractive to visitors.
Power has called on the Council to assess and make immediate remedial road repairs to the carpark at the Harbour in Clogherhead.
“The carpark at the Harbour in Clogherhead has deteriorated drastically over the last number of months and I have called on Louth County Council to assess and make immediate remedial road repairs that currently exist” he said.
“We have many visitors that frequent Clogherhead every weekend that massively increases from Easter into the summer season and depend on this facility to park their cars safely as they walk the harbour and hike around the head.

“Clogherhead encourages and benefits from the many visitors to the area with our Blue Flag beach, Harbour and the picturesque walks around the Head.
“It’s important that we portray a positive image and put our best foot forward for the betterment of our coastal village,” Cllr. Power said.
