The walk departs at 7.30 pm from St Peter's Square at the top of Peter Street and among the topics Liam will discuss are:

  • The Drogheda Market Cross,
  • St John's Home,
  • Confusion about the Star and Crescent,
  • Silverman's Pawn Shop,
  • Clarke's Pub ,
  • St Peter's Parochial Centre,
  • Peggy Duffy's newsagents,
  • The Nightwatch,
  • Frank Thornton 1916 and War of Independence hero,
  • The Central Hotel,
  • Mrs Lovely and McGrane's Pubs,
  • The Tholsel,
  • Bathe House,
  • Daly's Pub,
  • The Drogheda Independent,
  • Batchelors Lane,
  • Galbraith's Bakery,
  • Collins Hardware,
  • Bessexwell Lane,
  • The pub with the unusual name,

As usual Liam will have a few yarns to tell about the characters associated with the two streets, he is recovering from a foot injury but looking forward to this Walk and Talk which had to be abandoned last year due to rain, but hopefully it will stay fine for this one.

There is no set charge for the event but small donations to the Old Drogheda Society will be accepted.
