The tenth in this year’s series of Old Drogheda Society Walk and Talks which takes place on Thursday next, July 18th has the makings of a good pub crawl with five licensed premises on the route, let’s hope it doesn’t degenerate into a stagger.
Starting at 7.30, Liam Reilly will lead the way from the Tholsel, via Laurence Street and Chord Road finishing in Thomas Street.
Liam will give insights on the following, The Tholsel, Rosemary Lane. Peter Matthews pub, Keyser’s Lane, Methodist Church, Franciscan Church, Drogheda Grammar School, Singleton House, Whitworth Hall, Featherbed Lane, St Laurence Gate, Constitution Hill, Blind Gate, Morgan’s Lane.
After a quick pause for breath it will be onward and upwards to McHugh’s Pub, Sarsfield’s Pub, The Sienna Convent, Oulster Lane, McDonnell’s Pub, Crawley’s Court, Jemmy Flood’s Barbers, Paddy Duffy, Thomas Sandiford, the Chord Road soccer traditions, Kathleen Dempsey, Nolan’s Pub, Chord Cemetery Church, The Shooting from the Viaduct, The Sycamores, Greenmount and Boyne Mills.
