“Replacing these old and damaged water mains is a first step in tackling low water pressure, bursts, and leakage issues which have been affecting homes and businesses.”
To facilitate the safe delivery of the works, a stop / go traffic management system will be in place and areas of work will be limited to short sections to minimise the impact on commuters as much as possible. The works will also involve laying new water service connections from the public water main in the road to customers’ property boundaries and connecting it to the customers’ water supply.
The works will be carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by GMC Utilities Group and are expected to be completed by the end of January 2024.
