By day Niall Bennett is a courier, he has his own business called Niall Bennett Couriers which keeps him very busy. At this time of year however, his mind turns to more macabre matters.

Niall just loves Halloween and every year his home at Painstown House on the Dublin Road, between Colpe Cross and the Pilltown Road junction, is transformed into a scary house of horrors.

The ghoulish display has been the source of much fun and admiration and for the past couple of years Niall and his wife Olivia have used the interest to raise funds for the suicide charity SOSAD.

Niall told Drogheda Life that he has always loved Halloween and he and Olivia chose to support SOSAD because their family has been affected by suicide.

“Now more than ever we need to look after our mental health” Niall said. “Like every charity SOSAD have struggled for funding this year because of covid-19 yet they are doing a vital service.”

Niall and Olivia are welcoming families to stop and have a look over the wall at the scary display in their front garden if they dare. (Please be ultra-safe on the side of the busy road, wear high vis if it’s dark.)

There’s a bucket for donations but if you’d prefer to donate online you can support Niall and Olivia by donating here: https://buff.ly/35BFdup
