Following representations by Senator Ged Nash the National Transport Authority (NTA) has approved “substantial improvements” to the town bus services in Drogheda.
“Drogheda has grown and changed significantly in recent years but the town bus service hasn’t keep pace with or reflected those changes” Nash said.
“The NTA has confirmed to me that substantial improvements will be made to the Drogheda town bus service network.”

Senator Nash added; “I have been working on behalf of parents in south Drogheda for a bus service to Ballymakenny College so this new service is very welcome news.
“In addition, local area representative Michelle Hall and I have been working to improve services between Aston Village & Termon Abbey and other parts of the town. This new ‘D5’ route will be a real boon for commuters getting to and from the train station and the Ballymakenny Road service will also come as welcome news for local commuters.
“I have asked the NTA to confirm when these new services will commence and also to confirm the frequency of the services. I will provide a further update on this shortly.”
