Eimear Cooney (1499) on the winner's podium.
It was a brilliant bronze in the National under 19 Cross Country Championships on Sunday for Ace AC’s Eimear Cooney.
Irish 1500m champion Eimear, is no stranger to national podiums and again was the outstanding Louth athlete, pulling off a bronze medal, in what was a huge field in Tramore.
Eimear started the race aggressively and never looked like she'd be outside of the medals. Eimear subsequently qualified to run for the Irish International team. She can also run in the u19 final again next year.
Returning from a long injury layoff, Lorcan Forde Dunne ran very well in the boys u17 race, and just missed out on top 12 national medal, with a 16th place finish. Lots more to come from Lorcan.

Also running in a national final for the first time was Adam Cumming and Ruairi Cooney.
