As the proprietor of Toccata House Music School, Olive Powderly was loved and respected throughout the region by friends and colleagues and especially the many, many people who she had she imbued with the joy of music.
Sadly, the music died on Thursday 28th November last when, after a long struggle, Olive succumbed to a particularly distressing form of brain cancer.
In a world that is more and more rushed Olive Powderly was a breath of fresh air, she always had time for a chat and exuded warmth and friendliness, her sense of humour was legendary and will be remembered for a long time.

As a tribute to their former colleague and friend the staff at Toccata House have organised a special concert to honour the life and legacy of Olive Powderly with a special concert featuring talented local artists, many of whom she introduced to the world of music.
Olive's Memorial Concert is taking place on Saturday May 10th at 7:30PM in the Barbican Centre.
