Councillor Stephen McKee outsie Duleek National School.
East Meath Fianna Fail Councillor, Stephen McKee, has called on Meath County Council to provide public street lighting out as far as Duleek National School from the village.
“Meath County Council are in the process of finalising a list of public lighting schemes to be carried out in 2019 and I am very hopeful that this scheme will be one of them” McKee said.
McKee told Drogheda Life that he had been lobbying the Council for some time on this issue.
“I am pleased to say that the Council now tell me that the scheme will be put forward as a potential scheme for 2019.”

“The addition of public lighting out the school road in Duleek will improve safety in the area, particularly for our young children walking or cycling to and from school during the dark winter months.
“We are all trying to encourage healthy active lifestyles and this starts from childhood. However, many parents in the area feel they have no option but to use public transport or the family car because of road safety concerns.
“The lack of public lighting out the school road up to now has only added to those concerns.'
“There are also many people who regularly walk and run this route. This scheme will be of benefit to everyone in the area” he added.
