Plastic sacks full of cannabis which was seized yesterday.
Gardaí attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau supported by Revenue’s Customs Service have made a huge seizure of suspected cannabis in an operation in which one man has been arrested.
The seizure and arrest came as part of an ongoing investigation targeting serious organised criminal activity in which a vehicle was intercepted in the Meath area yesterday evening, Tuesday 17th November 2020.
During the course of the operation, 31 kilos of Cannabis (pending analysis) with an estimated street sale value of €620,000 was seized.
A man aged 32 has been arrested and is currently detained pursuant to the provisions of section two of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Ashbourne Garda Stations. Investigations are ongoing.
