Network Ireland Louth held an open night for members and non-members in Creative Spark earlier this week to provide attendees with an opportunity to make an Elevator Pitch on their businesses.

(For those not into jargon an “elevator pitch” is a short description of an idea, product or company that explains the concept in a way such that any listener can understand it in a short period of time.)

The Business Woman of the Year Awards, the annual awards that recognise the achievements of women on both a regional and national level, were also launched on the night.

Network Ireland Louth, President, Carmel McCarthy spoke of the variety of talent present and how businesses could be further developed from support within the network, particularly through the Mentorship programme, which is available free to members of Network Ireland.

The Business Woman of the Year awards was launched with Joanne Lavelle of Michael Lavelle Estate Agents telling of her very positive experience from entering the regional awards in 2018 and winning Louth Businesswoman of the Year in the Small SME sector.  Joanne spoke of the impact it had on her business and the support and motivation that she received from Network Ireland.

There are eight award categories for 2019, and they are:  Small SME (10 employees or less); Large SME (more than 10 employees); Emerging New Business (less than 3 years); Employee (Rising Star); Employee (Shining Star); Social Enterprise: Arts and STEM.  The closing date for entries is 5th April 2019 and for further details and entry, go to https://networkireland.ie/award-categories
