President Michael D. Higgins is presented with a copy of Irish Historic Towns Atlas no. 29 Drogheda/Droichead Átha in Áras an Uachtaráin by author and Drogheda man, Ned Mc Hugh.
On Tuesday 14 May 2019 Drogheda will become the twenty-ninth town to be included in the prestigious Irish Historic Towns Atlas scheme.
The Atlas includes histories of over 4,000 sites and over thirty loose maps and views of the town.
An advanced copy was given to President Michael D. Higgins in Áras an Uachtaráin by author and Drogheda man, Ned Mc Hugh in April.
The launch of the Atlas, hosted by Louth County Council, takes place at 7.30pm in the Highlanes Gallery.

The atlas will be available to purchase there and in Waterstones.
Irish Historic Towns Atlas no. 29 Drogheda/Droichead Átha by Ned Mc Hugh is published by the Royal Irish Academy, price €35.
