Q-KANGAROO, a Louth based company, are offering their app services FREE OF CHARGE to any food and beverage retailers operating in Drogheda during the COVID-19 outbreak for an initial 4 weeks.
The app allows customers to order and pay ahead for their products to collect at a time they choose. This cuts out the need to handle cash and avoids queuing to follow the Social Distancing guidelines.
Recently, the team has launched a Delivery option so stores can now deliver their goods to their customers who purchase through the app, making the process even safer during these unusual times.
Q-KANGAROO have now launched their Eat Safe Ireland campaign starting in Dundalk and Newry and they have their eyes set on Drogheda.

Jamie McGivern, Q-KANGAROO Digital Marketing Executive, mentioned: “The idea behind the Eat Safe Ireland campaign came from a cooperation between Q-KANGAROO and Dundalk BIDS to cut out queues in Dundalk so that people could get what they need in a way that is both quick and safe!”
He also added: “Our partner stores on Q-KANGAROO were very keen to take part in this campaign! They’ve been really engaging with it online and offline to further push their customers into using Q-KANGAROO on a regular basis!”
Q-KANGAROO are offering their services FREE OF CHARGE for an initial 4 weeks. They want to help those businesses who are trying to reopen and who are providing essential needs to the people of Ireland to be able to operate in a way that is both safe and quick.
Will Kelly, Q-KANGAROO Customer Success Manager, says: “We’ve had a really positive response to the offer so far, but we want to let more businesses take up the opportunity. All kinds of outlets keen to continue to serve customers safely and without cash or queues have come on board.”
In Dundalk, the team has seen an uptake in stores approaching them to be on the Q-KANGAROO app. “We’ve expanded our offer to the likes of butchers or any store who provides essential goods. We want to ensure that people can get the goods they need in a manner that keeps them safe,” added Kelly.
Barrack Street Butchers and Barrys Fit Food Butchers both joined Q-KANGAROO at the beginning of the COVID-19 Outbreak and have seen a massive uptake in the number of customers who are using the app to purchase their food.
“The addition of Q-KANGAROO has been fantastic,” says Hugh Murphy of Barrack Street Butchers, Dundalk, “We have had so much positive feedback from customers at how easy it is to place their orders on the app and have it ready to collect when they arrive. This has helped us even more so to adhere to the COVID-19 restrictions in place.
“Will and the lads have made the process of setting up so easy and have been a pleasure to work with. I would recommend Q-KANGAROO to any business looking to help their business and help customers in these difficult times.”
Barry Smith of Barrys FIT Food Butchers had this to say; “The guys in Q-KANGAROO have been nothing but outstanding helping all us local businesses free of charge stay afloat & provide essential services to the community safely according to HSE guidelines!”
