Incredible performances from Ace AC at Leinster indoor Championships

Two of the best from Ace AC - Seamus Sheridan with his PB sign and Chloe Cooney who had a championship record. 

Ace AC put in some incredible performances at the Leinster indoor Championships in Athlone at the weekend with personal bests, medals and provincial titles galore.

On top of that, Ace AC had two historic "championship best results". One from Lorcan Forde Dunne in the u17 boys 1500m and the second from Chloe Cooney in the girls u16 800m. Top 4 finishers secured national final qualification next month.

Saturday started in style with a Leinster silver medal for Chloe Cooney, in the u16 girls 1500m.  That medal was closely followed by a brilliant Gold from international runner Sholah Lawrence in the u17 girls 1500m. Minutes later, training partner Eimear Cooney secured bronze in the girls’ u18 1500m

Meanwhile, In the boys 1500m Lorcan Forde Dunne became Leinster Champion with a superb gold and and a championship best time! His training partner Shea O'Donnell continued his improving form with silver in the boys’ u18 1500m.

In the sprints, Shruiti Prasad, returning from injury, won silver in the girls u16 60m followed by Ciara O’Connor with a fantastic silver in the girls u17 400m. Then came Stevie Wong in the u18 boys 60m. Stevie blasted home to gold to secure himself and Ace AC, yet another provincial title.

On Sunday the ever improving Caoimhe Carolen won her u13 600m heat and qualified for her first ever Leinster final where she competed really well.

Then Chloe Cooney, fresh from her 1500m silver the day before, smashed the u16 800m championship record by four seconds, all while becoming Leinster 800m Champion, yet again.

Sholah Lawernce was out next, finishing second in the u17 800m and then Eimear Cooney also secured an impressive silver in the u18 800m.

Lorcan Ford Dunne was next up and won the u17 800m title in style with a PB of 1.56. His second Gold of the weekend. Rhys Clarke was 5th in the same race.

Shea O'Donnell then secured 4th place in the under 18 boys’ 800 meter final minutes later.

Over the 2 days there were also various PB’s for Tadhg Ford Dunne, Jamie Reilly, Chloe Hanley, Hannah Black, Daniel Hanley, Caoimhe Carolen and very good performances from Naiya Semple, Alfie Marron, Christian Kelly, Taylor Gregory, Dylan Garcia, Sofia Drakoulaki, Daniella Adebola, Adam Cumming, Tayo Lawernce, Hannah Black, Joe McCann, Farrah Smith, Kate Culhanne, Kate O'Donnell, Aoife O'Connor, Seamus Sheridan, Cillian Sheridan, Fergus Nolan, and Niall Murray.
