Drogheda Coast Guard members on watch.
One of Drogheda Coast Guard’s more unusual and bizarre call-outs occurred yesterday evening after what is believed to be a human leg bone was found on the beach at Baltray.
Gardai and the Coast Guard were both called to the scene at The Haven in Baltray at around 8pm yesterday.
The area was preserved until Gardaí arrived and the bone was taken away by Gardai for further examination.
A Garda spokesman said: “Gardai from Drogheda Garda station are investigating a bone in The Haven, Baltray beach, yesterday evening at approximately 8pm. “The item will now be technically examined.”
