Community Historian Brendan Matthews will host a Historical Walk n Talk on Wednesday evening next, June 22nd beginning at the Drogheda Bus Depot at 7.30pm.
Brendan will elaborate on the old medieval monastery and hospital which was established here back in the 12th century.
The Tour will then cross over to John Street where, along with a story or two, Brendan will point out the location of the former St. Mary`s Catholic Chapel.
The Walk will then proceed across the Haymarket Bridge to the Wellington Quay, Stockwell Lane and Dyer Street junction where some fascinating history of Drogheda`s storied-past will be told, before moving along to the Meat Market Lane area and on through Dyer Street; a street of great importance in times past.

The Archaeological Excavations of Dyer Street and surrounds which took place during the 1990`s will be recalled before the Tour will end overlooking the River Boyne at the rear of Wogan`s and the location of the medieval St. Saviour`s Chapel and the old House of Correction and Bridewell of Drogheda.
