A new Corporate Plan is being developed by Louth County Council and they are seeking the views and opinions of the public on what the council should focus on over the next five years.
The Corporate Plan is an essential framework for Louth County Council. It sets out the vision and mission statement for the duration of the current council, 2024-2029. It outlines the council’s purpose and values as an organisation and informs how services are delivered across the county.
The plan is being prepared on an inclusive basis through consultation with internal stakeholders (elected members, staff, and various committees) and external stakeholders, to give the best picture of what the needs of the county are, and how Louth County Council should work to address them.

The Corporate Plan remains live throughout the lifetime of the council, and progress on achieving targets and goals set out in the plan will be reviewed annually by the elected members through the Annual Service Delivery Plan and by the National Oversight Audit Committee (NOAC).
Public input to the Corporate Plan is vital, and we would like to hear your views. A Public Consultation takes place from 29th October 2024, and will run until 13th November 2024.
As part of this consultation an online survey has been developed. Feedback from this survey will be considered during the drafting of the Corporate Plan, which when completed will be presented to elected members for adoption at a meeting of Louth County Council.
The survey asks a number of specific questions, including what you might consider to be the biggest challenges facing County Louth over the next five years, and how you view the vision mission statement and strategic objectives that have been drafted to inform the work of the council term.
Joe McGuinness, Temporary Chief Executive, Louth County Council, said: “We are encouraging everyone to have their say in the development of the new Corporate Plan. The survey is open to all, whether you are taking part as an individual, a business, a community or voluntary group, and anyone with an interest in Louth, even if they don’t live here.”
