Halloween Spooks Parade returns to Drogheda Retail Park

Front Page

Lots of local children and their parents are expected to take part in the Halloween Spooks Parade at Drogheda Retail Park at 4.00pm on Saturday, October 26. Hundreds enjoyed the 2017 Drogheda Retail Park Spooks Parade, including Rhys Everard, Ellen Flood and Freya Everard. Photo: Suzanne Collins.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed strange, jungle like noises at the Drogheda Retail Park lately? It sounds like excited monkeys or parrots screeching.

On Saturday, 26 October at about 4.00pm that noise will be drowned out by that of excited children enjoying a unique Spooks Parade to kick off the Halloween season at the Retail Park.

Yes, the popular event has returned after a break last year.

Led by costumed characters, local children will go from store to store on a spooky adventure, listening to ghost stories and collecting vouchers for treats. A fancy-dress competition will round off the event as treats are given out.

In addition to the spooky entourage, children will be entertained by face painters and a Halloween DJ providing suitable ghoulish tunes. Children and adults attending the Spooks Parade are encouraged to get into the Halloween spirit and don their best costume.

The event starts at 4.00pm, however families are encouraged to get there early to meet the characters and get their face-paint ready.

“This event is a great opportunity for kids to go trick-or-treating safely and have a great time doing it,” said Freda O’Donnell, the Manager at Drogheda Retail Park.

“Our store managers and staff are looking forward to welcoming the Spooks Parade on Saturday, 26 October.”
